Group Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) has named its new Govt Director, Kristin Cheung, who took over the place from Eric Rhys Miller on July 5, 2021.
Kristin brings over 14 years expertise in arts administration and non-profits together with positions at Pivot Authorized Society, Vancouver Worldwide Movie Pageant, Modern Artwork Gallery, Gateway Theatre, Ricepaper and Geist Journal. She holds a Masters in Arts Administration and Cultural Coverage from Goldsmiths, College of London. She can also be a fellow of the International Cultural Management Program/Cultural Diplomacy Platform. She co-founded “The Future is you and me”, a free neighborhood mentorship for ladies of color within the arts. She brings her expertise in non-profit fundraising, neighborhood constructing expertise and fervour for working with underrepresented communities within the sector.
“I’m thrilled to hitch CACV on this pivotal second in its historical past as we’re on the verge of celebrating 75 years as a cultural landmark in Vancouver’s arts neighborhood,” says Kristin. “I’m excited to construct significant relationships with our superb group of neighborhood artists. Regardless of these difficult instances, the humanities and cultural sector is required now greater than ever. I’m wanting ahead to bringing justice, fairness, variety and inclusion values to all elements of our work and neighborhood programming.”
